Quality Manager (Construction Industry)

About the Job

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Manager with experience in quality management systems (QMS) within the construction industry. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile projects, including sectors such as airports, defence, nuclear, rail, and underground rail. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all projects meet the highest standards of quality and compliance, while actively contributing to continuous improvement processes.

 

Essential Qualifications and Experience

· HNC (minimum requirement) in a discipline such as Quality Management, Construction, Project Management, Technical/Engineering, or equivalent.

· Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) Membership: At least a Practitioner member of the CQI with an aspiration to gain Chartered status, which we will fully support.

· Quality Management System (QMS) Experience: Experience gained in the construction industry (experience from manufacturing or other industries will not be suitable).

· QMS Auditor/Internal QMS Auditor: Trained with experience auditing to ISO 9001:2015.

· Root Cause Analysis: Practical experience in conducting root cause analysis to identify and resolve quality-related issues.

· Client Access Passes and Licenses: Ability to attain several client access passes and licenses required to work within specific UK industries, including airports, defence, nuclear, rail, and underground rail.

· UK Driving Licence: Must hold a valid UK driving licence.

 

Desirable Skills and Experience

· Audit Experience: Experience auditing to ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental) and ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health and Safety) would be beneficial.

· Knowledge of Additional ISO Standards: Familiarity with ISO 55001:2014 (Asset Management), ISO 44001:2017 (Collaborative Business Relationships), ISO 19650-1:2018, ISO 19650-2:2018, ISO 19650-3:2020, and ISO 19650-5:2020 (Information Management for Construction Projects) is advantageous.

· Flexible Work Approach: Ability to prioritise and work flexibly based on the direction of the Quality and Assurance Manager and Project Manager on assigned projects or contracts.

· Team Player: Collaborative approach to working with other staff and clients within the business.

· Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, planning, and decision-making skills, effective at all seniority levels.

· IT Software Proficiency: Competence in using software packages such as Microsoft Office.
